My goodness! A month since my last blog post. Once upon a time I was a faithful blogger. I'm not sure what happened. I guess Facebook and Instagram tell my {/our} story these days, but I'm determined to document everything here, as this is our family journal.
We just came home from an incredible trip to Disneyland and La Jolla/San Diego. Can't wait to share that trip, but for now, let's back up the train to Easter.
Easter Sunday was fabulous. I'm always grateful for this time of year to really focus on my Savior, Jesus Christ, and ponder the reality of his resurrection, and the fact that he lives. As a mother, a greater responsibility rests on my shoulders to pass this knowledge down to my kids, who are really grasping these deep thoughts and gaining faith and a testimony on their own, particularly Stone. He said to me the day after Easter, "Mommy, you want to know what I want to be when I grow up?" I started with his daddy's profession, and said, "Lawyer." I then went from one profession to the next, threw in all sorts of things like super heroes, etc., and then he said, "No mommy. I want to be resurrected." That opened the door for a great conversation, one he actually grasped and put thought into. I know my Savior lives, and I'm grateful for his atoning sacrifice.
A few days before Easter, we came upon these awesome wild flowers (perhaps weeds) on a family jog, and I knew we were going to haul our green couch out there and take some Easter pictures. It was kind of hot, the kids weren't feeling it too much, but we got some fun shots in our 20 minute shoot. Thank you tripod.
I've had these pictures posted on Facebook for a while now, and looking at them all over again made me smile. These kids bring so much joy to our lives. Everywhere I go, I seem to get what apparently is a greeting, "Hi. Wow, you have your hands full!" I laugh out loud. YES, yes, I do. But full hands make a full, happy heart. And of course, there's no better person to share this joy and love with, then my handsome, loving hubby. This coming month marks 12 years since our first date, and even though the 16-year-old me dreamed we'd make something like this together, I couldn't comprehend how awesome it would really be.
