I absolutely am loving our weather these days. 60s and 70s for fall weather is PERFECT. We are still comfortably running outside, playing at the park, and just enjoying the sunny, crisp days. Much different from "fall" weather in Utah that we lived in for 4 years.
I remember my first Halloween there (2003), my cousin, Matt, convinced me to drive he and and some friends up north for a party (this is not my Flashback, just a sidenote). The drive should have taken about an hour. 3 1/2 hours later, through the worst (and FIRST!) snow storm I have EVER been in, we reached our destination. The party was over, and I refused to drive back home that night, so we crashed there for the night.
Fast forward one year later, and Cliff and I are married, living in a small, cozy basement apartmen
t directly north of the BYU football stadium, which if you're not familiar with the area, it's somewhat close to the base of some mountains. We were driving home one night after work, slowly making our way up the icy hill to our home, when out of nowhere, some HUGE deer jump DIRECTLY in front of us. We swerve, skid all over the rode, made a couple circles, I'm sure, and barely missed them. The phrase, "Deer in the headlights" brought a new, literal meaning to our lives. And that was just our first encounter with deer while we lived in that area. Although I'm not missing Utah's "fall" temperatures, I DO miss the BEAUTIFUL changing colors! .

haha, i love this post because it definitely paints a picture of living out west! i miss the west. you guys should come out here to see the leaves in the fall! it's so beautiful. i am very jealous of your weather right now. maybe we will have to do an internship in texas! ;)
You were such a good "Utah driver"...I was never comfy driving in the snow and ice!
That pic of you & Cliff...that was the day you graduated from BYU, right? That day was so much fun...and the fun & GLAM picnic Charee put together!
Ah Whit, I'd LOVE to go back to Boston. Hope Harvard (whew!) is treatin' Josh well.
And mom--Yep, day of graduation. I thought the Provo mountains was a nice touch to the post. And yes, Charee's "picnic" was FABULOUS.
I remember that drive with your cousins I think...I just remember the horrible conditions. I had a few deer in the headlight moments in Montana. Once couldn't fully stop on the ice, and bumped one on the the back of the legs as it was running off...woops.
I swear...in that pic, you don't look a day over 13! If it weren't for mascara...11, tops! hehe
deer in headlights....that's something that i just grew up with it was expected to happen on a yearly basis. i think iv hit rudalph, bambi and two of their buddy's. i even hit one while 8 months pregnant with baby chlo. it sucks everytime! i agree with your mom, i thought that, that pic. was taken when you were in highschool but then i noticed the beautiful mountians....good times that was fun! i forgot that i did that.
i know i am so torn too! i love the great weather we are having, but miss the snow sports sometimes and the changing colors and stuff...but playing tennis in mid november outside is quite nice!!! p.s. i loved the pics of stone in the last post..he's a cutie :)
