Arizona was a blast. Even the high triple digit weather didn't stop us from having a good time.
We stayed busy with fun with my mom. We swam in her pool every day, ate yummy food, took Stone to the barber shop (yes, the barber shop), went to Scottsdale where the kids rode a little train and carousel, did a little shopping, and had some 4th of July fun at the Klepingers (a blast).
Thanks to Instagram again, here are a few more pictures...
The Klepingers (Ashley's family) threw an awesome 4th of July fireworks show. It was legit. Huge fireworks went off in their backyard (including a dud that got mighty close to my kids and me--and Stone just said, "OH MY GOSH!! THAT WAS SOOOO COOL!).
This was Stone's first real firework display to see. The last TWO years, we were rained out, and had no fireworks. The year before that, we were in San Diego and saw a small one in the distance, but were having fun at the park and on the beach. And before that, he was too small to really enjoy the display. Emerson was just as entertained. It really was a blast!
A trip to Arizona wouldn't be complete without In-N-Out. So glad we have a few in Dallas now, but that's still a two hour drive...
We stayed busy, and if Emerson will sleep in a grocery cart, you KNOW she was exhausted from fun and entertainment. My children don't just sleep anywhere...
This was in Scottsdale on the train and carousel. The kids loved it!
We also stopped by to see Charisse, my aunt. The kids loved her dogs, of course. It's always fun catching up with her! She was always like a 2nd mom growing up. She babysat us every weekend on date night.
My mom has an antique trumpet. Stone has always loved playing with it when we visit her. He wanted me to play on it, but there was no way I was putting my mouth on that thing.
Emerson couldn't get enough of it, either, and wanted her ear up nice and close.
Jordan flew in for the wedding, as well. Always fun to see him. Stone had a blast with him, and when he left, he was so sad. He said, "Mama, Jo Jo plays with me like Daddy does. Now he's gone." ....you can tell we were missing Cliff! We were away from him 2+ weeks.
Altogether, we had a BLAST! We love love Arizona. We just wish the trip wasn't so far away!
