Our summer days are pretty routine. We get up, we eat breakfast, we gather our swim stuff, and head to the gym. I teach my fitness classes, my kids play with their friends, and then we hit the pool. When we're done, we head home, eat lunch, the kids either crash or have a little quiet time, and then we do something else in the late afternoon/evening, or we play outside, or watch movies. Play dates at the splash pad and indoor play places are mixed into our days each week. Not a rigorous schedule by any means, but it's pretty routine, and we love it.
We love swimming. Emerson learned to swim sans floaties the first few days in the water after participating in a swim class (she was so close at the end of last summer, so it didn't take long). Stone swam long distances, working on his endurance. Knox floated on his back, and refused help after a while. I'm sure he'll be swimming without floaties next year.
Our summer days are perfect. We are sure going to miss them.
And a little proof of her swimming...
