Trip to Ohio!

My mom and Ray moved out to Ohio last year, and we finally got to make a trip out there to see them. I flew with the three kids, and Cliff met us a few days later.

The trip started out a bit rough. Cliff dropped us off to the airport (in Dallas), with plenty of time to spare. To make a REALLY long story short, we missed our flight. The airline we booked only flew to our destination once a day, so right away I was upset that our trip was being cut a day short. However, after MUCH talking to the customer service manager, we ended up being compensated INCREDIBLY well. Like 400% our ticket price well. It ended up being classified as an involuntary bump (which is pretty much what it was). So that lifted my spirits immediately. We then caught a shuttle to a hotel, used their shuttle services for some In-N-Out, and made it an adventure.

When we got to Ohio, the non stop fun began. We went to Chagrin Falls, Kirtland (a major historic site for our church), and spent many hours playing in my mom's backyard, and exploring her adorable area.

Once Cliff met up with us, we ditched the kids for a few days to celebrate our anniversary.

While we were gone, my mom and Ray spoiled our kids, and when it came time to go home, my kids had a HARD time saying goodbye.

We love spending time with my mom and Ray and can't wait to see them again!

My mom, Knox, and I, were exploring some cute shops, while Ray took Stone and Emerson down to look at the falls. As we were meeting up with them, we spotted them in the water. I was laughing so hard. Of course my kids would end up down there, in the cold water.

Stone lost a shoe, but that didn't keep him down.

Visiting Historic Kirtland was amazing. I am so grateful to the early members of my church. They are truly an inspiration. We learned so much neat history, and I'm so glad my kids got to experience it with us.

These next two pictures are courtesy of Stone's tablet. He was taking his own pictures the whole trip, and kept asking to set up the self timer and take pictures of us. He even added some filters to it.

While we were there, Ray built an awesome swing for the kids in the backyard. They played on that swing non stop. It was awesome!

We went to a super cute market with my mom...
And we went fishing, which was definitely a highlight for the kids. They each caught a fish all by themselves. They were STOKED.

We had a blast on our trip! Can't wait to do it again!
Love you, Mom and Ray!
