I was sitting in the Don Haskin's center with my family, waiting patiently for Jordan to graduate in 2001. I was flipping through the program, seeing who we were going to hear from, and looking at the many many names of graduates. One of my brother's friends got up to give the opening speech, and I thought, "hmmmm, what did she do to get the opportunity to speak at graduation?" She was class president.
As I listened to her speech that graduation day, Rocio sparked my interest in running for class president.
That following school year was my junior year, and I thought about it off and on all year long. That was the year I ran for Senior Class President. I ran, and I got it. Not like I didn't have enough on my plate as it was (I was involved in many student groups and cheerleading).
Well, as senior year began, someone mentioned, "Wow, so you'll be planning the class reunions, huh??"
"SAY WHAT?!" I thought, "Ummm, that was not in the job description."
But so it is, and so I've begun preparation, which I realize is majorly premature (4 years), but I figure now's a good time to begin a base of contacts of my fellow grads. I started a Facebook group, and I think it's a good start. Already there are people that have joined that I hadn't come across on Facebook.
At that time (senior year), it freaked me out thinking about planning and organizing a reunion, but I think it will be fun, and I have plenty of time.

You are definitely not one that withdrew from school activities during senior year...you kept us all busy :)
Smart on getting a head-start!
Wow, what an undertaking, but exciting too! Thank goodness for technology, I can't even imagine organizing a reunion through regular mail!
Oh man, thinking about a ten year anniversary is so weird! I definitely wouldn't want to be in charge of it, you'll be perfect.
