Flashback Friday: Poolhoppin'

I was a pool hopper. Yup. My screenname on AOL growing up was PoolHoppin. I had a pool, but it was the thrill of this activity that had us going. We'd head to the Willows (a big subdivision in our area) and park at one end of the center/main street of the subdivision. The homes along this street all had swimming pools, home after home. I knew some of the families, but most of them were complete strangers. We'd start at one home, jump over the wall, jump in and out of the pool, and run to the other side and jump over that wall and repeat. Often the homes were dark, indicating they were gone for the night, but I remember one house that FREAKED us out. We jumped the wall, and just as we were getting ready to jump in the pool, the man of the house was standing in his living room, looking out, directly at us. FREAKY, actually. Yes, it was his home, yes we were trespassing, but it was out of the ordinary. We QUICKLY climbed the high wall, FREAKING out, ran along the wall, and SPRINTED for our car. Later, we passed the home, and it looked like they were out looking for us. I think that was the last time we pool hopped through neighborhoods. The funny thing is, we were GOOD kids just being stupid. While other friends were out partying, we were out pool hopping. That was our thrill. Wrong? Probably. There's no way kids could get away with it these days.

sorry, I forgot to tell you about Melissa, she just moved out of Manhattan and went to Fiji for a few weeks and now just moved to Pennsylvania. She is just working and living up the single life, but it doens't look like she will be single much longer!! But I bet she would love to hear from you, if you want to write her I can give you her email or something!

That is risky! We would always get hotel keys and pool hop the different hotels since NO ONE had outdoor pools in Montana!
