Emerson is THREE Months!

OMGosh. I can't believe it's already been three months since this girl first blessed our lives. I forgot how much I LOOOOVE this stage. She is:

*...talking ALL the time. And loud. Uh oh, like her mama.
*...probably going to be a Daddy's girl. He can get her to talk and smile for a 30 minute stretch. Have you ever smiled that long? I'm sure it's gotta hurt that cute little face
*...pretty much sleeping through the night...which means I'm catching up on my Zzzzzzzs
*....eating great
*...starting to follow her brother everywhere with her eyes.

Marcy (my mom-in-law) surprised us with these GREAT little hats! I was THRILLED to receive these in the mail.
Here is our little Emerson Rose three months to the day:

This picture makes me smile

A lady gave me this picture at church on Sunday. It was taken at nursery. From his long, curly hair, I'm thinking it was a couple months ago.

This picture says a lot about our kid.

Think he knows when a camera is on?

Flashback Friday: Nut Butter

I'm overdue for a flashback Friday, and this story came up in a conversation with my mom recently, and I had to blog about it.
My freshman year in college, my mom headed up to Utah to pay a visit. Both my brothers had recently moved to the beehive state, and she took us to Target and treated us to all those items that you just hate buying as a single college student (shampoo/conditioner, soap, deodorant, etc...such UNfun things to buy with your own $$, but are quite necessary...and so she treated us).

I had finished gathering my things, when I spotted my brother, Jordan, smelling some different lotions on the lotion isle. I was appalled when I saw the lotion he was smelling.

Me: Jordan!! Ewwww! That is SO gross!
Jordan: What?!
Me: Nut Butter?! Really?!

Jordan was confused, then realized what I thought it was, and started laughing.

Me: They actually make that?!

Then I was mortified, and realized it was exactly what it's called....nut butter. Not butter for nuts.

Who says you can't swaddle a 2.5 year old?

**Update since my post***: I don't really swaddle Stone, but surprisingly, he wanted to since Emerson was, so we were having fun.**
I love these two so much. I love how Emerson is starting to watch Stone...the way she looks at him with admiration. And I love that he loves her. So what if I have to continuously tell him to give her a little space.

Life is good.

Happy Easter!

We had a great Easter weekend! It happened to fall on the same Sunday as our church's General Conference. I am so grateful for Jesus Christ. As President Hinckley (former prophet of our church) once said, "it's a time to celebrate the greatest victory of all time, the victory over death...through his death, came Resurrection and assurance of eternal life." He is risen.

On Thursday, we headed to an Easter celebration at the library where Stone had a blast. Then, on Saturday, we had an Easter egg hunt with a bunch of kids from church. Stone had SO much fun. Holidays are SOOOO fun with kids.

Below: Cliff strategizing with Stone

Below: All the kidlets lined up for picture time before running off to hunt. Then, on Easter morning, we had our own little hunt for Stone's basket and eggs...

Below: He was saying, "I hear something!!" while shaking the egg...

Cliff, I mean...the Easter Bunny....surprised Stone with a nerf gun. That makes two in our home, which means my boys are always shooting at each other. It's sometimes hard to tell who is having more fun.

And of course, my sweet sweet girl. She is SOOO happy all the time! If she has a full tummy, she is either sleeping, or coo-ing and smiling. I feel so blessed to be a mommy of 2.

I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend. I can't believe another weekend is already approaching!

On a side note, law school graduation is almost here (hooray!), and we are busy in this household. I continue to work from home, and in addition to that, I just booked 11 photo sessions in the last 3 days...which completely books me up until graduation. Busy times ahead!!
